drumrolll.....Lemon Squares. TALES FROM THE INTERVIEW  Stephanie Sloane: When I was at the DAYS set interviewing Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) for her feature in the new issue, we got on the topic of her famous lemon squares. "As a matter of fact, James Scott is a hound," she laughed. "He'll say, 'Okay, it's been over a month. I need my lemon square fix!' And I only used to bring them in for Christmas and he'll say, 'Oh, pleeease.' I've brought them in twice now since Christmas because of him. He's so darling. And I think, 'He's a vegan and he doesn't get much to eat, so I better bring them in.' So I give him his own special plate and then I put the rest in the makeup room or walk them out on the stage for the crew." Scott then knocked on her dressing room door and the following conversation took place: Suzanne: [excitedly] Hi honey! We were talking about you. James: I came to say hello; sorry I'm interrupting Suzanne: We're almost done. We're on the tail end of our talk. James (to me) : Have you talked to her about the lemon squares? She hasn't brought me any in three months. Suzanne (to me) : See! It's been like only two! Scott then left and Suzanne turned to me and said, "He's so darling. So darling." I wish they would give SR something more productive and less annoying to do than prop Melanie and be the home for characters they don't want to have to build sets for. Thanks for posting! |

That is such a CUTE interview!!! Being Vegan can be rough, my friend was for 10 years, then all of sudden craved a hamburger and that was it!LOL She's now a vegetarian! |

That's what I was wondering. Typically you have butter in the crust (normally they're short crusts), but maybe she uses vegetable oil. And I can't think how the lemon filling would thicken without eggs. I guess I could google vegan lemon bars and see what I get. |
