I am only going to take The DAYS part of the Column: I also like how DAYS took the most popular actors from PASSIONS and slowly wove them into the action: Galen Gering as a dreamy love interest for Sami, Lindsay Hartley as his sister with a secret, and Eric Martsolf as a recast Brady, her paramour. (Why NOT entice PASSIONS fans to tune in?) And how DAYS managed to tell a baby switch story with a twist (EJ is the father of both Sami & Nicole's babies). And how they managed to coat the DiMera mansion in irony by having Sami feel so bad about Nicole having to give up her baby (which is really Sami's) that she offered her $50,000. Nicole: "How in the world?..." Sami: "What do you think I've been living on? My good looks?" OF COURSE, Nicole would resort to every trick in the book to keep Chad from taking her baby. "Mrs. DiMera," he stuttered in a clever nod to The Graduate, "are you trying to seduce me?" But no one has better dialogue than the Kiriakis family. Phillip (to the nagging Kate): "You want to worry about something? Go worry about your new family--a family that doesn't just try to kill people, they actually succeed. Bore them with your stupid advice and your phony concern." Yes, there was too many young'uns not tied to anyone we care about, and yes, Kate is a cartoon villain, and yes, the acting is a little "pitchy" at times (once again: stammering is not an acting choice!), but DAYS still manages to entertain us pretty much every day. And how many other soaps can you say that about? I have to admit that Carolyn Hinsey does have a point with her closing question at least for me anyways I tried to watch some of the other soaps this weekend on soapnet with no luck..lol |

OOOO Phil...snap!LOL That was a great piece of dialog! I personally dont read CH because she comes off trite and negative most times. I guess since its an opinion column you get to do that, but I also get to not read it either!LOL Thanks for posting! |

I agree that Carolyn Hinsey is known for being very negative in her columns, but I do agree with her that despite its flaws at the moment, I think DAYS is one of the best soaps out there now. In my opinion, ABC is a mess so is Y&R and B&B. |

Thanks for posting the article Lucy. In recent weeks I have taken the time to check out the other soaps/competition and IMO, not one of them can hold a candle to DAYS right now. And that says a LOT because I'm not even happy with this arc of the baby switch storyline. |

HAH! Have u guys seen OLTL or GH (and I only know that cause my mom watches OLTL.) They both suck terribly. DAYS has really been doing a good job this year (even though some of it did suck, the majority was good--look at the ratings!). Thanks for posting
