I really wasn't expecting the second half of the reveal to be, yes, once again, placed squarely in James and Ari's hands -- with Nicole confessing everything to EJ! How AWESOME is that?! I mean, think of what that shows as far as investing in a couple and in the actors. They could have had EJ run in to find Sami -- even Rafe suggested it. But, instead, he followed Nicole -- or, rather, his heart followed her b/c he could see how upset she was. It was very much an echo of the first reveal -- but with one great exception. That hug! And how EJ was trying so hard to understand how upset Nicole was in not being able to give him a daughter. Yeah, he manhandled her. Yeah, his tossing the wedding ring was not enjoyable - to say the least. But I completely expected EJ DiMera to react as cold and heartless -- burying his feelings b/c he feels his pride's been hurt, that he's been betrayed. The very fact that EJ *believed* Nicole when she revealed all was interesting in and of itself. Somewhere deep inside, what she said about Sami not letting him have his daughter to raise resonated. So he knew it was the truth. I don't think he would've felt the same way if Sami or Rafe or someone else had been the one to tell him Sydney was really his. Yes, I'm sad that things are 'ending' -- well, the deception is, anyway. But I am also very, very excited that they are having Nicole go out in a blaze of glory -- and that ALL of the reveal, ALL OF IT was all EJole, all the time!!! I think it just shows again where the writers' hearts are -- they love EJole as much as the rest of us!! |

WOW!! Thank You So Much For Posting This. I Loved Reading It, and I agree that tptb could have easily had Sami or Rafe or Safe be the one to tell EJ the truth about Sydney, but the fact that tptb had the truth come from Nicole does speak VOLUMES and as a supporter of EJ & Nicole, it was a very pleasant surprise. I have know since Nicole began to lie back in November that there would be a very dark time for EJole when EJ discovered that his anchor, his rock, his kindred spirit, his everything played him as the village idiot for a year so I am ready for the dark, but I do have hope. Thanks again, Peachy!

Excellent post, peachy! I thoroughly enjoyed all EJole yesterday knowing the big reveal was all about EJole, and AZ/JS really connected in all of their emotional scenes. I am so glad all of the truth is out, Nicole was the one to tell him and the secrets are gone. EJ did go a bit crazy on Nicole, but he is passionate about her...and the fact that he followed her was something! Didn't think he would do that. Too funny that Rafe adn Sami had EJ at their doorstep and nobody could stop him to show him his daughter? LOL! I think this is great for EJole. They get to start again, raw, from scratch...so much potential! So excited! Very pleased with how everything has turned out so far! |

I was surprised by that too, Alligato, especially when SuperRafe was having so much fun taunting a hysterical Nicole in front of EJ with his "Nicole, go on tell him....or would you rather Sami do it? Maybe the cops should fill him in?" I thought for sure EJ would go charging into St. Sami of Glitter's holy place and start demanding for Sami to spill whatever SuperRafe was babbling about but instead he chased after Nicole determined to know what was wrong and wanting to hear it from him not from St. Sami. My heart broke when he softly pleaded with Nicole to please talk to him, and he was so comforting and supportive with her till he learned that she was still lying to him. But when he took off his wedding ringer, and confessed to Nicole, "You know, I can't even imagine why I held onto this. Some misguided sense of loyalty, I suppose." and he proceeded to throw his wedding band into the river with Nicole screaming, "NO!" I was sobbing. BRAVO ARI & JAMES!! |

^I know! I kind of liked seeing that ring on his finger...jsut as much as I like seeing the charm on her necklace! I don't know if it was supposed to be or if JS couldn't help it, but EJ was looking awfully sympathetic to Nicole the whole time. I hope they end up saving each other! |

ITA..and both the ring and necklace symbolize the time together where they did love each other....regardless of lies. He FELL for her and she did too. It's going to be interesting to see EJs struggling with all the people in his life betraying him...and how he changes...because people do change from something like this. I hope its an EJ I like- cold on the oustide..letting us (the audience) in on his internal struggles. Great post Peachy! |
