I'm from the Great State of Texas, and folks here are pretty nice too, most of the time. I've also lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, also a great place.

Other states I have been to: New York, Massachussetts, New Hampshire, Florida, Alabama, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada (I am so a Vegas girl!), California, Arkansas, South Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin. I have a lot left to see!

Other countries I have been to: England, France, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Mexico.
WooHoo! Can you just stuff me in a suitcase on your next trip? :brow: I have no problems riding cargo if it means I can visit all those wonderful states and countries! Whatdya say?

Sure, but I haven't been out of the country in a long time! You'll probably just be going to Vegas--every year my husband and I are like, should we go on vacation somewhere else? But we can't stand the thought of not being around our beloved casinos! We got a flyer from a hotel we've stayed at the other day and we were like, is it Vegas time again? Tell me it's Vegas time!

Vegas :eyebrow: Is it a nice place, 'cause my mom wants to visit U.S next summer, and we're kinda planning where to go :D
I suggested San Francisco, and LA, but my dad wants to go to Vegas :P My mom was like.. Yea.. never!

I'm 13, and I have two younger sisters 10, and 7.. so Vegas isn't maybe the perfect place for a family..?

There are some fun things to do in and around Las Vegas even if you don't (or can't, because you're too young) gamble. They tried a few years ago to make Las Vegas more family-friendly, but honestly IMO the main reason to go is to gamble. There are great restaurants and shows and all, but still, I don't think it's great for families.

San Francisco is beautiful, and I think I would recommend it over LA, although our California posters can jump in and argue with me! Northern California is stunning and San Francisco is fascinating--though I warn you, it is VERY expensive, one of the most expensive U.S. cities. If you want to go to California, your family might look into San Diego, where I've never been but have always heard great things about.

If you do go to LA, your dad could take a day trip to Las Vegas and everyone could be happy! :)

I am a native Californian, so I can definitely help and welcome you to the best state in the US (ok....so I'm biased!)

How much time are you does your family intend on staying? This is a factor because you can visit Vegas, then drive down to LA or San Diego.

I'm a native Los Angeleno, so I can help you there too! I <3 LA, some people dont like it because its full of cars and traffic, not like any other city you visit. Our public transportation is not great (it sucks) but after visiting many places around the world, I would not trade in my city for anything!!!

San Francisco is a beautiful city and they have good food! That's maybe my 3rd fave city. You can drive from LA to SF off the 101 and its beautiful! You see the Pacific Ocean and there are several sights to see heading up to SF!

As for $$, you're coming from Europe, so the Euro is always stronger then the dollar, that shouldnt be a problem.

I would also recommend the travel site tripadvisor.com.....GREAT SITE! They have local experts and can answer your questions (or your parents' questions and help them plan your trip out!)

Hope you do live my lovely city!!!! Bring sunblock!
Liz

About 2 months :D My mom said that she wants to relax and spend the whole summer in U.S. Not a problem for me :eyebrow:

I actually said to my dad, that isn't it going to be expensive to stay in San Francisco for 2 months, but he was like it's not a problem.. Okay, well that's fine by me (:

San Francisco is more expensive then LA because of the lack of real estate. Its only 7 miles and hotels are more expensive there too!
WOW, two months!!! That's great! You can do lots of stuff!
